Waltz

Waltz

Waltz classes take place once a week in 1-hour sessions.

It is a folk dance that emerged in Provence, France, in the mid-16th century under the name “Volta”. It is performed on a 3/4 time signature by rotating. Waltz evolved by incorporating local differences among those regions where it was performed in Austria and Germany in the early 19th century. Today, it is referred to as “Viennese Waltz” and “Modern Waltz” under two different categories and types of rhythm in the world dance literature.
