Clarinet

Although the best age to start clarinet classes varies depending on the physical and perceptual structure of a student, admissions generally start from 9 years of age.

Classes take place as one-on-one private lessons in 45-minute sessions and are reinforced with group solfège classes.

Clarinet is a member of the woodwind family with an octave range of up to four.

“Clarus” means high, clear and luminous sounds. The instrument consists of different timbral areas with the combination of the mouthpiece, barrel, upper joint, lower joint and bell.

The purpose of the clarinet education is to obtain the right sounds by playing all music passages based on the rhythm, in line with controlled breathing. Most commonly, the training begins with “B-flat clarinet”.

Students improve their musical ear and literacy through attending solfège classes throughout their education. Students acquire the skills to showcase their knowledge in end-of-semester recitals and concerts organized at the end of this academic education.
