Drum/Percussion

Drum/Percussion

Although the best age to start drum classes varies depending on the physical structure of a student, admissions generally start from 5 years of age.

Percussion classes are delivered to groups in 45-minute sessions.

Our students can also attend the solfège classes opened according to the age group.

A drum set is a combination of percussion instruments that basically consist of a hi-hat, cymbal, snare drum, kick and mid tom. This set of instruments has a peculiar sharp timbre, generating sounds through various types of drumsticks and rhythmic gestures.

Containing musical dynamics (various loudness levels), percussion is a group of percussive instruments whereby sounds are obtained by using force.

The purpose of the Drum and Percussion education is to improve the physical-muscular coordination with a rhythmic harmony through these sounds. While discovering their rhythmic skills, students also acquire a musical ear by listening to these sounds.

Basically, percussion includes the following types of instruments: Cajón, Darbuka, Tumbadora/Conga, Bongo, Agogo, Bell, Cowbell, Chimes, Tambourine, Guiro, Jingle Stick, Rainstick, Cabasa, Timball and Timpani.

These instruments accompany not only art music, but also popular genres of music.

Also offering therapeutic benefits, these classes are quite productive and fun for groups of corporate employees, friends and families.

Students acquire the skills to showcase their knowledge in end-of-semester recitals and concerts organized at the end of this academic education.
