Although the best age to start flute classes varies depending on the physical and perceptual structure of a student, admissions generally start from 9 years of age. The oral, dental, lip, chin and arm structure of the candidate is considered in admissions.
Classes take place in the form of one-on-one private lessons in 45-minute sessions and are reinforced with group solfège classes.
The flute is a member of the woodwind family with an octave range of three point five. It consists of different timbral areas with the combination of head joint, body joint and foot joint.
The purpose of flute education is to obtain the right sounds through acquisition of a controlled breathing technique based on rhythm in harmony with the body.
The flute education is built upon art music.
Students improve their musical ear and literacy through attending solfège classes throughout their education. They acquire the skills to showcase their knowledge in end-of-semester recitals and concerts organized at the end of this academic education.
